Procedures
GENIOPLASTY
It is a procedure that aims to alter the projection of the chin, either reducing or increasing it, in order to enhance the facial profile's aesthetic balance.
The surgical procedure:
When a change in the jaw structure is needed, cuts (osteotomies) are made at the chin level, and then the bone fragments are moved either forward, backward, downward, inward or rotated as required, and secured with osteosynthesis material (plates and screws) based on the specific indication. In cases where augmentation is necessary, a silicone implant can be used. Regardless of the method, the incisions are made inside the mouth, and absorbable sutures are used. Another option for augmentation is fat injection.
