Procedures
BLEPHAROPLASTY
As we age, the skin and supporting tissues of the eyelids become loose, causing drooping eyelids and bags under the eyes due to the protrusion of fat pads. This leads to an aged and tired appearance, and can also result in reduced visual field and changes in tearing mechanics due to improper positioning of the lower eyelid (ectropion)
The surgical procedure:
This surgical procedure involves making incisions at the natural folds of the upper eyelids and below the eyelash line on the lower eyelids, resulting in barely noticeable scars. In cases where only fat bags are present in the lower eyelids and no skin needs to be removed, an incision may be made in the conjunctiva (the pink inner part of the eyelid). This method, known as transconjunctival blepharoplasty, is particularly suitable for young patients with no redundant skin.
To achieve a more expressive and youthful appearance for the eyes, excess skin will be removed and fat bags on both the upper and lower eyelids will be partially eliminated. In the lower eyelids, the fat in the bags can be repositioned to fill the grooves below them (nasojugal folds).
